Abstract

Bacteria have the most attendance in biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles either intra- or extracellular. In this study, we investigated biologic production of silver nanoparticles by a silver resistant Bacillus sp. isolated from a copper mine. The UVvis and XRD spectra of the aqueous medium containing the Bacillus sp. and 3.5mM AgNo3, showed the formation of silver nanoparticles. TEM and SEM micrographs showed extracellular synthesis of silver nanoparticles with spherical shape in the size range of 1060nm. Molecular study, performed based on the sequencing of 16S rRNA gene, demonstrated the strain of isolated Bacillus as megaterium.
